Q. WHO IS FACE-HEAD?

Born and raised by the magical winters-frost of haunty New-England, Face-Head grew to realize their favorite pastimes & genres as being: 

• skateboarding
• punk music
• sci-fi
• high-fantasy
• horror-films/comics 
• drawing

Core-figures of influence upon Face-Head as a youngster were their grandmother’s painting-skills, & big-brother’s talent at drawing; I am not positive if creative-work would be quite as wholly defining to my identity as it is if not for them, & I am quite grateful for that.

     In their ink slinging journey so far, Face-Head has drawn a lot for Fun! In their earlier-years, they loved to re-draw characters like the Chicago Bulls logo, the slime from the nes-game/cartoon Dragon Quest, TurboGrafx-16 video-game characters & other various anime-style material; Another influence from their brother who was an avid anime fan & Why I saw ‘Ninja-Scroll’ when I was only 10/11 years old lol. Face head’s vision quest thus far has yielded various bursting manila folders, filled up sketchbooks & unruly scrolls of large-works, as a result of thousands of hours worth of intensive art production. It’s sweet, but it’s time to use it!; including abstract, symmetry-obsession, punk-style spiky goofballin’ wacky pinheadery, t-shirt-record/poster/flier-art for bands along the East & West Coasts of the U.S. & abroad. The very cartoony-style work I love especially to do & feel as a result of a strong influence from the power of Robert Crumb & Vaughn Bode’s illustrating careers. 

     The idea of being able to share some Martian visions of mine with the earthly community of talents & creators who are enthusiastic art lovers, actively seeking out fresh fun art daily is a mega exciting thing to me. The electric avenue of hyper-connective art sharing and therefore easened ability to support DIY-artists via the birth of the internet, as opposed to the harder route of hanging works in a physical gallery, Is a big reason For Face-Head’z presence in the space of digital communication. The goal is to produce & offer artwork up to those interested in something a little different, yet at the same time giving clear mini-nods to the classic art-masters and trying to still keep it all as original as possible; & this being done in the form of stickers, pins, paper-prints and i would ultimately love to produce more animations and toys.
